Published: 07/09/2008In the penultimate round of the EDC, Buff needed to get some points on the board to stand a good chance of taking the title. However, that wasn’t to be the case as the engine had a catastrophic failure.
The team was concerned on Saturday, as the engine had a small knocking noise. Raef, head of Team SVA, decided to get his hands dirty and give the engine a once over. Many hours were spent looking at each part of the engine, and several parts replaced.
Come Sunday, Mark emerged from the holding area, and began his practice runs, only for a rod to punch its way through the side of the engine during his second lap. This has ended his chances of winning the championship.
With Tim Marshall taking the round, and Ben ‘Bon-Bon’ Broke Smith coming third, it has become a four way race for the runner-up position of the EDC. All will be decided in the final round in Poznan.
